Wisła – never-ending story

Photographic record of everyday life along the Wisła (Vistula) river in Warsaw. In the summer of 2022, I walked about 40 kilometres along the eastern and western banks of the Vistula river, discovering a wild natural world hidden right in the heart of a European capital. I was new to the city — this vast area dividing the city in two sparked my curiosity. "District Wisła," Warsaw's unofficial district, is a place to gather with friends around a bonfire or host a family picnic. It is the city's beach, a quiet space for meditation and connecting with nature, a path for cycling to work. It is a democratic space shared by the residents of an increasingly culturally diverse city.
The project made its debut at the Night of Photography in Warsaw in 2026 as one of the winners of the open call organised by the Museum of Warsaw.
